General Meeting #2
All Research Lines gathered once again to discuss the state of the project, developments and unify the efforts into a single vision of what should be the design of a new breed of interactive urban space devices.

Topics discussed:
- status of the hiring of scholarship holders;
- status of equipment acquisition;
- clarification on the composition of the team, project structure and functions of each RL;
- presentation of works from RL1:
-
specific tasks A1 and A2;
 -
advances in the study of the state of the art;
 -
positioning on the ATLAS;
 -
clarification of some key points about the research;
 -
presentation of potential project features;
 -
presentation of potential spaces for the implementation of prototypes;
 -
issues raised:
-
reduction of the spectrum of state-of-the-art research on interaction systems;
 -
a better definition of the type of transformation we intend for space is needed;
 -
we must carefully consider where to apply these technologies, sometimes they only complicate;

 -

- presentation of RL2 works:
-
identification of generic technologies that allow the collection and sharing of data;
 -
prototyping phase of a generic system capable of hosting different types of sensors;
 -
ain objective will be navigation within the campus;m
 -
search for general UM authentication services and campus information services (energy, building plans and topological surveys);
 -
development of a universal system to be applied to any space and to consider mobility difficulties;
 -
"crowd-source" some data, collaboration with campus agents, people say what they want/need (need for retribution);
 -
possibility of the system being a receiver of information and problems (accepting feedback from users of the space);
 -
possibility of being a large object that attracts prying eyes;
 -
creation of an automated database, open for adding information (with privacy);

- presentation of RL3 works:
-
manufacturing cell for extrusion (altice arena, Braga);
 -
study on the recyclability of materials;
 -
consideration of opportunities for collecting raw materials (funding on campus and other institutions or collection at specific agencies);
 -
"circular economy" a strong motive that can be present not only in the final objective of the project but in the production process as well;
 -
problematization: difficulty in cleaning and preparing the material, as well as a continuous flow of material collection;

- need for retribution for community efforts (as an incentive) or for greater visibility of the project (follow up);
- discussion on work methodologies, research and dissemination: workshops, conferences, website, collaboration in the idealization (with students and with campus agents);
- exploration of the possibility of using the library building as a basis for advances;
- discussion of the way in which the information collected is interacted with;
- initialization of discord channel for information sharing and communication between the group;
